Valissa finds immeasurable joy in helping horses and their people through her bodywork practice, offering The Masterson Method®, equine osteopathy and cranial sacral therapy. She is a sought-after bodyworker for horses of all ages and disciplines throughout South Jersey, the Greater Philadelphia region, and is currently expanding to the Greater Ann Arbor, MI region as well.

Her passion is infectious and her clients are well-acquainted with her face lighting up while discussing bodywork solutions to their horses'  performance issues.

​

For Valissa, each horse is a fascinating puzzle to solve.  Applying her solid knowledge of equine anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics with her ability to perceive and guide subtle shifts in the tissue forms the art of her bodywork practice.

​

As a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner, Valissa trained under certified equine bodywork coaches, mentors and instructors throughout the United States and in Germany.  She is a Masterson Method Coach for certification fieldwork students, is an Instructor for the new Masterson Method Beyond Dog Massage online courses.  She has assisted numerous Masterson Method clinics and seminars both in the US and the UK.  She enjoys presenting interactive demonstrations for clubs, organizations and private farms highlighting the Masterson Method and the benefits of bodywork.

Certification in The Masterson Method® is a demanding course of study, requiring nearly 500 hours of combined instruction, coursework, 30 case studies, coaching, and hands-on equine bodywork. 

​

Valissa completed Equine Cranial Sacral Levels I and II at the Upledger Institute in Winston-Salem, NC, one of the world's premier learning centers for craniosacral studies.

​

Valissa studied equine osteopathy at the Vluggen Institute of Equine Osteopathy, a rigorous, 4-year program taught by Dutch human and equine osteopath, Janek Vluggen DO, MRO-EU, EDO® of Waldfeucht, Germany.

Always expanding her skills and knowledge, Valissa is currently studying Canine Osteopathy at the London College of Animal Osteopathy and is an Instructor for the new Masterson Method Beyond Dog Massage online courses:

Her recent activities have also included helping promote the above online canine courses with Jim Masterson at Pet Expos in NJ and VA, assisting Jim during his Weekend Seminar in PA, and attending both a Masterson Method Light to the Core course in NC and a symposium with Manolo Mendez in VA.
